Choosing a Facial Plastic Cosmetic Surgeon
What is Facial Cosmetic Surgery
When Does OHIP Cover Facial Plastic Surgery
Laser resurfacing helps to improve the texture of your skin, soften age spots, remove pre-cancerous skin changes, and improve scars from conditions such as acne or from trauma.
Like all resurfacing choices, lasers create a controlled burn, which causes your skin to tighten. While treatment is tailored to your specific needs, the area from the cheekbones to the jaw line is the most commonly treated area.
For many patients, laser resurfacing of the eyelids can eliminate the need for other eyelid surgery. In addition to reducing lines, forehead resurfacing can help lift the eyebrows, and open the eyes.
All patients will experience some redness after treatment. Redness improves rapidly, with most patients using their regular makeup within four to six weeks. You can usually start using makeup to cover redness seven to ten days after surgery.
Laser resurfacing is commonly performed in the office.
